Google Adsense offer different types of ads and they are mostly categorize in following format:

• Adsense content unit
• Adsense link unit
• Adsense for search unit

Maximum AdSense ad units allowed on single web page

You can have maximum 3 content units, 3 link units and 2 search units on a page.

Adsense content unit:

Just remember that, you can place maximum of 3 content units on a page. You can decide ad size which suit for your site. There are following ad sizes available:

728×90, 468×60, 234×60, 125×125, 120×600, 160×600, 180×150, 120×240, 200×200, 250×250, 300×250, 336×280

Adsense link unit:

Link units perform really well when blended with your theme and placed above the fold. Adsense has following types of links ads available:

(728×15) Displays 4 links, (468×15) Displays 4 links, (200×90) Displays 3 links, (180×90) Displays 3 links, 160×90) Displays 3 links, (120×90) Displays 3 links.

You can place maximum 3 link units on a page.

How to create Adsense link ads

Step 1 :  Login to your Adsense account

Step 2 : Go to My Ads -> Click New Ad Unit”

Step 3 : Choose “Link Ads” from Ad Size drop down

Step 4 : Choose ad size and style which best suits for your site

Step 5 : Now click blue button “Save and get code”

Adsense for search unit:

You can add maximum of 2 search unit on single page. Search units work well for big websites. Adsense-for-search units work similar to search performed on google page where, google shows ads before search results. You can read my other post to know how to create adsense for search unit.
